Congressman Todd Young (R-IN9) and Senator Dan Coats (R-IN) announced today that they will be hosting a job fair in Corydon  in conjunction with WorkOne Southern Indiana on Tuesday, August 21.  Area job-seekers will have the opportunity to connect with employers with job openings.

“At a time when many Hoosiers continue to struggle finding work, it’s a vital public service for us to be able to link up employers and future employees,” Young said. “Senator Coats has long been a strong advocate of policies that would help create more jobs in Indiana, and I’m excited to team up with him on this event.  I encourage area job seekers and local employers to take advantage of this job fair and help us get Hoosiers back to work.”

“With many Hoosiers out of work or underemployed, these are tough economic times and I am proud to partner with Congressman Young to help connect job seekers with job creators,” Coats said. “I invite all Indiana residents to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with several employers from various industries assembled in one room. Thanks to the leadership of Congressman Young and support from WorkOne Southern Indiana, this job fair will be a great event for all Hoosiers interested in finding a job or considering a career change.”

The job fair is open to the public and will take place from 10:00AM to 1:00PM in the YMCA of Harrison County’s Gymnasium at 198 Jenkins Court NE in Corydon. There is no cost to participate, and no RSVP or appointment is necessary for potential employees.  Employers can register through the 9^th District Congressional office in Jeffersonville, or online at https://toddyoungforms.house.gov/job-fair-registration.

Area job seekers are advised to come ready to meet with potential employers and should bring multiple copies of their resumes.  Career information, training providers and a job search skills workshop will also be available, as well as admissions counselors from local colleges.
